5pm – Midnight
Downtown Fort Atkinson
Join us for the end-of-summer celebration at the 15th Annual Rhythm on the River on Saturday, August 26 in downtown Fort Atkinson. Start your night with a “Taste of Fort” featuring tasty menu items by local food vendors. Kicking off the entertainment is Katie Mack & the Moan performing rock ‘n roll and blues from 5-7:30pm, followed by the headliner band The Love Monkeys performing popular rock, pop, reggae, country, and their own original music until midnight. The Balloon Guy will be offering balloon animals, face painting and airbrush tattoos from 5-9pm, and the mascots of our Fort Atkinson businesses will be joining us for dinner and offering photo opportunities from 5-7pm.
The Chamber’s leadership program, Project LEAD, begins its 30th year on September 13 at the Jones Dairy Farm Homestead, followed by monthly sessions at area companies and organizations. Project LEAD participants are introduced to the leadership of the area’s largest employers, while learning the inner workings of what makes the community function. Facilitated by Mike Wallace, President and CEO of Fort HealthCare, the program strives to build future leaders with a desire to serve the community, so participants also determine a project that addresses a local issue or concern. If you would like to participate in this year’s Project LEAD class, click below to view the Project LEAD brochure and application. Class size is limited to 15 participants and registration deadline is August 30, 2017.

The church basement kitchen throughout much of America is often the heart and soul of any church. In Church Basement Ladies, we meet the pastor, three cooks and one daughter who run the kitchen and care for the congregation. As in any kitchen, problems arise. We watch as the four women handle a Lutefisk Dinner, a funeral, an Easter Fund Raiser, and of course, a wedding. They stave off potential disasters, have loads of fun, share and debate recipes, instruct the young, and keep the pastor on a steady course. This musical comedy is funny, heart-warming, and down to earth, and will bring back memories of many people you know and love.
