Residents in Fort Atkinson may think they know their home town, but the new community guide published by the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce showcases the city’s amenities in a whole new light. Featuring all new photography and updated content, the guide helps visitors, prospective residents and businesses learn about the many attributes that make Fort Atkinson a desirable place to live, work and play. “Love letters” from residents and business owners are printed throughout as a way to tell a more personal side of Fort Atkinson’s story.
This “quality of life book” addresses things to do for tourists, and serves as a marketing tool for people who might be thinking of relocating or starting a business in the area. Divided into three segments, the guide encourages readers to invest in their leisure, lifestyle and future, highlighting entertainment, education and healthcare, as well as business and industry.
“We tried to show the best of what we love about Fort Atkinson,” said Jennifer Welsh, the Marketing & Tourism Manager at the chamber. “We wanted others to see the city as we do: A little city with a big heart and a wonderful story.”
The guide is supported by chamber member advertisers. Much of the photography is from area residents, with design and printing by The Badger Group. Copies of the publication are free and available in the chamber office, and at businesses throughout town. The guides are distributed to other chambers and visitor centers, and serve as the chamber’s primary relocation piece and business recruitment tool. An updated city map is also available.
Now is the time of year to plan a little get-away, and the chamber’s visitor center is filling with 2017 visitor guides for destinations throughout Wisconsin. City, county and state maps are available, as are area bike and trail maps, all free to the public. The chamber has information for those seeking specialty cheese and wine tours, arts markets, campground facilities, and road tours.
The 2017 Official Guide to Jefferson County is also available at the Chamber and area businesses. Readers can discover the hidden gems of each community in Jefferson County, with places to eat and shop, as well as a full calendar of events for each season. A countywide map is included.
