Some people prefer the simplicity of a small country church, and others are inspired by the grandeur of a giant cathedral. We have both in Fort Atkinson, and the tradition of worship runs deep, as many of the present congregations were established in the 1800s. The two dozen denominations represented today all have one thing in common: a strong commitment to the spiritual growth of their members. This shared philosophy binds congregations who in turn, create a number of community programs that serve the elderly and needy.
Spiritual needs are met in services that range from formal to informal, traditional to modern worship. There are many youth activities offered throughout the churches including traditional “Sunday School” to overnight lock-ins. Clubs, circle groups, studies, athletic teams, bake sales, prayer teams, car washes and concerts make up many parts of local church fellowship.
