The Fort Atkinson Lions Club is hosting its annual Smelt and Fish Fry on Friday, April 17. The fish dinner includes smelt, cod, buttered rye bread, coleslaw, and french fries. Milk and coffee are also included. Additional beverages are available for purchase.
The event is held at the Fort Atkinson Municipal Building. Lions Club members will begin serving guests at 4:30 p.m. The event concludes at 7:30 p.m.
The ticket cost is $11 if purchased in advance and $12 if purchased at the door. Children’s meals (under age 10) are available for $4 at the door only. Tickets can be purchased at Goyer Ace Hardware; Premier Bank in Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, and Johnson Creek; Fort Community Credit Union; Badger Bank; or from any Fort Atkinson Lions Club member.
The Fort Atkinson Lions Club has been hosting the Fish Fry for 49 years. Monies earned support Lions Club projects, including educational and community service activities. Their most recognizable endeavors include vision screenings, eyeglass recycling, and diabetes awareness.
Event chair Lion Russ Turk shared that this event is enjoyed by the community and helps facilitate bringing people together to enjoy a great meal. Over 60 Lions Club volunteers donate their time to work at this event and we are proud to provide an event for the local area community to enjoy!
Bring your friends and family and enjoy and evening of fellowship and fun. And, don't forget to bring you old eye glasses to the event, as Lions Club members will be collecting them for foreign missions.
