    The School District of Fort Atkinson is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent at the Luther Administrative Office.

    The Administrative Assistant is a highly confidential position that performs skilled administrative support to the District Administrator and Board of Education.  The Administrative Assistant works as part of a team to support students and staff and to help support the mission and vision of the District.  This position is directly responsible to the Superintendent and coordinates the preparation, dissemination, and retention of board and district information and assists in the successful operation of the district office.

    • 4-10 years of related executive assistant experience, associate’s degree, or a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties of this position
    • Experience in a school setting preferred
    • Competency and comfort working with systems, software, and technology applications that will be constantly changed, upgraded, and utilized in the function of the Office of the Superintendent.
    • Certifications that are commensurate with the skills of the job, previous successful work experience, ability to work and collaborate with others.
    • Willingness to assume other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills &  Other Abilities:
    • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
    • Working knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order, Wisconsin Open Meetings Law, other relevant state and federal laws, and applicable district policies
    • Display a supportive and constructive attitude when dealing with students, parents, staff and the public
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and establishing personal networks
    • Ability to follow and give direction, and consistently deliver high quality, accurate work product in a timely manner for multiple people while handling numerous interruptions
    • Ability to handle multiple, competing tasks and prioritize appropriately
    • Good sense of individual judgment and initiative to carry out established procedures with minimal supervision
    • Ability to demonstrate ethical conduct and confidentiality in all aspects of the work environment
    • Exceptional customer service skills
    • Ability to effectively work in a team environment
    • Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents related to functions and procedures in the school environment
    • Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) and to relate effectively to staff, students, parents, and the public in a professional manner
    • Demonstrated skills using office software and equipment (computer, student information systems, word processing, database, spreadsheets, email, various programs including desktop publishing)
    • Ability to be flexible
