    Job Description

    BlueFire Arts is looking for a part time Studio Assistant who is available 10 -15 hrs./week primarily on Fridays and Saturdays with occasional evening work. Weekend and Holiday availability is required as this is our busiest time. Hours are Fridays 3-5 and Saturdays 11-5 with some flexibility. Pay $10-$12 per hour with some commission opportunities. Must be 21 or older.

    This is an excellent position for a College Art Student or Teacher. The ideal candidate must be a creative person with arts and crafts experience who enjoys working with children and adults in a fun, fast paced retail environment. Applicant must be willing to learn new skills, get messy and be good at cleaning. Pottery Wheel experience is preferred but will consider applicants who are open to learning new skills. Would love someone who is interested in teaching evening art workshops or paint and sip events.  Ability to work independently and must be dependable!

    We are a locally owned Art Studio that offers Art Classes, Workshops and Special Events for ALL Ages and Abilities! We also have Open Studio where customers can choose from a variety of options including Glass Fusing, Pottery, Painting, Jewelry Making, Mosaics and more! Retail, restaurant, customer service, or teaching experience is helpful, but mainly we're looking for person with an upbeat approach to the job of helping people enjoy a day off or night out in our studio!

    As a studio assistant your responsibilities will include: Greeting and providing service for all studio visitors and customers. Booking & hosting birthday parties and special events. Assisting customers with painting ideas and techniques. Operating the studio cash register system. Identifying and keeping track of customer's project choices. Preparing projects for customer to pick-up. Maintaining a clean work environment and opening and closing the studio. Additional duties as assigned. You will also get to learn about essential "back-room" responsibilities, like glazing pottery and loading and unloading the kilns. All training is provided.
