    Job Description
    The School District of Fort Atkinson is accepting applications for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist at the District Administrative Office.

    The Payroll & Benefits Specialist administers and processes the payroll and benefits programs of the District in such a way as to provide staff a meaningful service so that they may focus on creating the best possible opportunities and services needed for students to achieve their academic and personal potential.

    Essential Functions:
    *Prepare and calculate each bi-weekly payroll and associated reports and records (including time sheet verifications, absence report reconciliation, updating various salary changes and deductions, printing reports, preparing and distributing payroll withholdings and benefits). *Maintain and update financial software/payroll processing system (Skyward).
    *Update billings for group insurances on a regular basis.
    *Prepare and participate in various accounting and benefits audits.
    *Complete New Hire Reporting.
    *Process unemployment compensation claims and prepare necessary reports.
    *Prepare and distribute W-2’s, 1099 R’s and ACA required statements.
    *Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders as it relates to the performance of payroll and benefits duties.

     

    Qualifications

    Requirements:
    *Minimum two-year degree or equivalent experience including training in the areas of payroll, accounting and benefits. *Experience in using payroll and financial software.
    *Public payroll processing experience preferred.
