Ambassador Feature: Tom Dehnert

What do you do professionally, and what do you love most about your career?
I am Vice President with Badger Bank. Customer facing, I am primarily a lender. Internally, I focus efforts on “Working Together, Achieving Success”, for our customers and our employees. I truly enjoy listening to people's stories and helping them realize their financial dreams. It is a great honor to serve generations of families and businesses in the area.
What is your history with the Fort Chamber?
I think the Chamber knew me before I was aware of it. Chamber programs and events have been a part of my entire life. As a child, I didn’t realize the Chamber put on certain events, but it brought me closer to the community and the community closer to me.  The same holds true for events and programs I was a part of while attending FAHS; Careers Presentations, Portfolio Exit Interviews, etc.  When I entered the workforce it became apparent that Chamber involvement was paramount.  As an employee of a Chamber Member I was afforded the opportunity to volunteer, learn and network.  I currently serve as an Ambassador and am a past Board Member & President, but my favorite position with the Chamber is Volunteer.
What is a fun fact that people might not know about you?
    1. I was a graduating Senior during the inaugural Portfolio Exit Interview. Former Superintendent Dr. Jim Fitzpatrick was the district representative.
    2. I am a 2nd generation Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce President ca. 2018, following in the footsteps of my Father ca. 2001.
What advice would you share with someone who is looking to get more involved in the community?
There are so many opportunities. Don’t be shy, take some initiative and ask!  Here’s a short list to pique some interest; service clubs, Fort Atkinson Parks and Rec, Fort Atkinson Chamber, golf/volleyball/bowling/dart/pool/bags league, library/museum, recreation...
