On Monday, March 6th, the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce held a Kick-off Event for the 2023 Lemonade Day season. Each year, Fort Community Credit Union sponsors this national program that encourages youth to hone their entrepreneurial skills by planning for and managing a lemonade stand.
This year’s Kick-off Event was held at the Dwight Foster Public Library. Youth entrepreneurs and their families learned about the program and the workshops that will lead up to Lemonade Day. (Workshops include Recipe Day at Jones Market, Bank Day at FCCU, Badger Bank & Johnson Financial, Construction Day at Builders FirstSource, and Marketing Day at the BASE locations.) Participation is free for all interested youth.
This year’s Lemonade Day will be held in Barrie Park from 10AM-3PM on Saturday, May 6th. All youth interested in being judged for their stand, entrepreneurial skills, and products must be set up in Barrie Park. Several businesses belonging to the Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring and promoting the stands.
Any questions regarding Lemonade Day can be directed to Shauna Wessely, Executive Director, at director@fortchamber.com.
