An iconic building in Fort Atkinson’s historic downtown is now home to a furniture consignment shop and design studio, providing quality items for living and family rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, as well as accessories such as lamps, benches and artwork. Proprietor Linda Rowe opened “Feather Your Nest” on South Main Street in April of this year, and traffic has been brisk.
An interior designer, Rowe has extensive experience working with clients, and offers in-store design consultations at her business. She chooses quality pieces for the consignment shop, and will clean and refinish those that need a little extra care. She and her team pick up and deliver, providing another level of service important to her clients.
Chamber Director Carrie Chisholm thanked Rowe for locating on Main Street. “Linda’s store fills a gap in our downtown retail sector,” she said. “Her building is huge, and her product mix is perfectly suited for this very visible location. She’s not an antique store or a thrift shop, but she has a surprising variety of furniture at all price points.” Chisholm noted that local artists are also able to sell their work at Feather Your Nest. Pottery, decorative signs, quilts and other pieces are currently on display.
The consignment store is 50/50, meaning the client gets half of the final sale price. Much of the existing inventory appears on the Feather Your Nest Facebook page which gets updated regularly, and guests are also invited to stop in during regular business hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00am – 6:00pm, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10:00am – 5:00pm, and Saturdays, 9:00am – 4:00pm, at 234 South Main Street.
