Literacy Tutors Needed
Help the Jefferson County Literacy Council ignite change in your community! The JCLC is a community-based
adult education organization that provides free basic literacy, English as a Second language, Citizenship, Computer
Literacy and pre-GED instruction. The organization seeks volunteers throughout Jefferson County to work with adults
one-on-one or in small groups. It is the mission of the Jefferson County Literacy Council to build a better community through
literacy. The organization’s team of dedicated and well-supported volunteers are essential to helping those in the community
with literacy challenges achieve their educational goals. Currently, the greatest need for volunteer tutors exists in Watertown,
Fort Atkinson and Jefferson.
To become a tutor at JCLC sign up for one orientation session and the training session.
Tuesday, April 23 – 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (Jefferson Office)
Wednesday, April 24 - 11:00 AM – noon (Watertown Public Library, meeting room 1)
Thursday, May 2 – 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Jefferson Office)
Saturday, May 4, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Jefferson Office)

literacy by helping learners defeat literacy challenges. JCLC is supported by United Way of Watertown and United Way of Jefferson
