Wedl’s Hamburger Stand & Ice Cream Parlor Joins Fort Chamber.
Wedl's Hamburger Stand, a historic fast-causal restaurant located in Jefferson, WI has joined the Fort Atkinson Area Chamber of Commerce.
 
Since 1916, Wedl's Hamburger Stand has been famous for its classic slider-style hamburgers and cheeseburgers, which are served with fried onions and pickles on a warm bun. Located on the corner of Racine St and Center Ave, this Jefferson, WI landmark boasts a nostalgic 1950s atmosphere that is popular with tourists and locals alike. In addition to the burger stand, the business also includes a detached ice cream parlor that serves a wide variety of flavors and offers indoor seating.
 
Wedl’s has been owned and operated by the same family since 2006. Robby and Shandell Wedl purchased the restaurant for the 2023 season from Robby’s parents. This is Robby’s 21^st season with Wedl’s. He started with Peterson’s in 2002 while in High School and then worked with his parents to purchase the hamburger stand from Bill Peterson in 2006. Now this year the couple are officially the owners of Wedl’s. They hope to continue the tradition of passing the business over to one of their four kids in the future!
